Down in the Song Wat Road area, we stumbled onto what might be one of the best riverside seats along the entire 372-kilometer stretch of the Chao Phraya. Gentle breeze, comfortable weather, and an unbeatable view , it’s the kind of spot that makes you forget you didn’t spend a single baht on a boat ticket.
No cruise required. No admission fee. Just find your spot, sit back, and watch the boats go by.
Where Exactly to Find This Spot
The area sits inside a lively little alley just off Song Wat Road, packed with things that’ll pull your attention in every direction , aesthetic cafes, accessory shops, well-known sportswear and lifestyle stores, and a few food spots that have gone viral online.
Keep walking to the end of the alley and you’ll hit a small fort-like structure that separates the alley from the river itself. Climb up onto it, walk alongside the sportswear store, and that’s it , you’ve found the sweet spot.
From up there, you get an unobstructed view of the Chao Phraya River, right in the heart of the Song Wat Road area, with boats passing by and the city’s energy rolling in from every direction.
